16.03.23 - British Science Week: Reception
Date: 16th Mar 2023 @ 4:48pm
Our famous scientist we have researched and learnt about this week is Mary Anning; a famous fossil hunter and palaeontologist who’s findings are displayed and recognised in the Natural History Museum in London! ? ? ? ??
British Science Week: Tractors
We learnt how tractors work, what they do and what materials they are made from. We also explored how tractors are connected to space! ?
A big thank you to our wonderful parent who joined us in Reception to talk about her job as a nurse! ?? We loved looking at real tools and equipment and also shared our own stories of visiting the doctors office and nurse.
We were Nature Detectives and explored the great outdoors using all of our senses????? ? ? We didn’t let the rain stop us as we looked and listened for signs of wildlife, with lots of commenting on the different birds that we spotted and heard. We discussed their habitats and what they would need to make a nest ? ? When asked if we might see a fox and badger in the woodland den, we remembered that these animals are nocturnal and we could see this at night ? ? On our walk we identified the signs of early spring, where beautiful daffodils had grown. We talked about the rainy weather and how this had made the grass super muddy. Some of us commented that we could hear the wind and smell the rain ?? ? #britishscienceweek
