Heart Dissection!

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 6 Year: 2024 - 2025

In Year 6 we have been learning all about teh circulatory system, the parts and functions. We learnt the function of the heart and how the flow of blood is transported around the heart, through the lungs to be oxygenated, back to the heart and around the body. We have used key scientific vocabulary to describe the parts. After this we dissected hearts to bring our learning to life and consolidate what we had learnt. We were able to see the hearts 4 chambers, identify different arteries and veins, along with valves and the septum, separating the right and left side of the heart. Please take a look at the picture.
